How to play Ontario 49 Lottery
Players who want to play Ontario 49 will be following the 6/49 game structure. In order to participate, players will purchase lottery tickets and choose six numbers with a range of 1 and 49. Players who match all six numbers called out during the draw take home the jackpot. There are various tiers of prizes given to the winners. Cash prizes are distributed to those who can match as few as two numbers from the winning draw. The last prize that is generally given out is a free lottery ticket for the next draw.
Tickets can be purchased online and on-site from any authorized retailer in Ontario. Players have the option of choosing their lottery numbers or opting for a feature known as Quick Pick. In the latter option, player’s number for the lottery are drawn at random upon request of the feature. Players also have another feature to choose from known as the Encore. This is a bonus game that allows players to win additional prizes. The highest jackpot prize offered for Ontario 49, encore, is 1 million Canadian dollars. For players who purchase the encore ticket, a 7-digit encore number is printed on their lottery tickets. This encore number is printed during the purchase process and therefore, it is a feature that only residents of Ontario can access. When the winning numbers for ‘encore’ are drawn, players can match the numbers both from left to right or right to left or both the ways.

Claiming the prize money
Prizes below $1,000 can be claimed from an authorized retailer, via mail or at the OLG prize center. Players who have won more than $1,000 will be required to fill out the Lottery Prize Claim Declaration Form that can be found on the official website of OLG. Prize above $1,000 and below $250,000 can be claimed at the OLG prize center or at any of the selected casinos within the jurisdiction.
